The Greater Manchester Authority developed a systematic methodology for embodied carbon quantification — creating a ‘Carbon Calculator’ to inform decisions for low carbon solutions for the region’s ongoing and future home retrofitting programmes and new build homes.
In the framework of the CNCA Embodied Carbon Project, Greater Manchester Authority developed a systematic methodology for embodied carbon quantification — creating a ‘Carbon Calculator’ to inform decisions for low carbon solutions for the region’s ongoing and future home retrofitting programmes and new build homes.
The project also explores the feasibility of bio-based and other low carbon materials as alternative to conventional construction materials. This research project was also funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (UK) Impact Acceleration Account via The University of Manchester (IAA/494).
