Institutions Lead, Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Sarah leads the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s work with international institutions, national governments, cities and various knowledge partners. Her work focused on engaging with policymakers to raise their ambition and activate ambitious circular economy policies. Her team delivers research and thought leadership to support policy engagements and strengthen the Foundation’s policy community, mobilising key decision-makers towards systemic change. Outside the Foundation, Sarah serves on advisory boards for the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) and the Climate Neutral Cities Alliance (CNCA). With over five years at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Sarah initially joined the cities programme before becoming Institutions Lead. Previously, she worked for a green economy NPO in Cape Town, South Africa, focusing on industrial symbiosis and circular economy programmes. Sarah holds a chemical engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and has two years of management consulting experience.
