Pingala Community Energy, a grassroots organization that promotes community-owned renewable energy projects, was a awarded a grant through CNCA (Game Changer Fund) and the Urban Sustainability Directors Network (American Express Fund). This grant supported the installation of solar energy systems in low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities in the City of Sydney. It promoted the larger policy goals around standardizing and sharing solar project best practices and accelerated the adoption of equitable solar solutions for people most impacted by energy costs and climate change.

Outcome:

• Installation of 26 residential solar PV systems with a combined solar capacity of 101.17 kW and an estimated monthly cost saving of $258.23 AUD.
