Overview:
CNCA is seeking proposals prioritizing collaboration between city staff and priority community organizations or Indigenous governments to deepen their relationships, build staff understanding of climate justice and skill and experience working in collaboration with priority communities, to advance climate action.
Priority Communities are defined as low-income people, Indigenous Peoples, people of color, immigrants and refugees, non-english speakers, differently abled people, youth and older people, previously incarcerated people, LGBTQIA+, and others who experience marginalization due to gender, ethnicity, religion, citizenship status, or other factors.
Budget:
Grants will be for $40,000 USD per city for projects up to one year. CNCA plans to make approximately 4 awards in this funding cycle.
Eligibility and Who Should Apply:
- Indigenous Peoples Governments or Cities committed to advancing climate justice with identified community organization partners that are led by and serve priority communities
- Community organizations partnering with city departments to advance climate justice (Community organizations are now eligible to be the lead applicant)
- Successful proposals will include the full participation of both community representatives and city staff

Proposals will be reviewed beginning March 10, 2025 for proposals received by 18:00 UTC on March 7, 2025. Proposals received after that date will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the budget is allocated.
